Telecoms Manager

AGR are working closely with our client to recruit a Telecoms Manager  to join its team on a rotational basis, 28/28 in Algeria.

About the role:

The Chef Dept Telecoms provides team and technical leadership to ensure the timely and effective delivery and operation of Telecoms services in alignment with Groupement Berkine (GB) business priorities and Information Technology and Telecoms (ITT) standards and strategies.   Scope includes all Telecoms services, including field radio systems, trunk radio, network (WAN/LAN), PBX telephone, access control systems (ACS), video conferencing, closed-circuit television (CCTV), internet service providers (ISP), public address and the general alarm (PAGA), satellite telephone, satellite data (VSAT), satellite TV digital distribution, vehicle tracking,  the telecommunications data centres operations, and business continuity and disaster recovery processes

Key duties and responsibilities:

  • The Chef Dept Telecoms works closely with IT Management to identify and execute opportunities to improve organizational and individual efficiency, deliver new and existing Telecom services to improve GB performance
  • The Chef Dept Telecoms directly supervises and manages multi-disciplinary teams (3) of Telecom professionals, made up of 13 positions in total spread over the 3 GB locations
  • Administrative responsibilities include, equipment procurement, contract management, managing annual budget, managing project budgets, approving staff schedules, monitoring, evaluating, and staff performance
  • Technical leadership includes working closely with ITT management and other departments to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost effective technology solutions

Work Experience:

  • Experience supervising or managing a diverse team of IT or Telecom staff
  • Experience in the management LAN or WAN networks
  • Experience in the implementation, support, and maintenance of satellite links, radio networks, and LAN / WAN required
  • Must have demonstrated competence and experience in the key areas of:
  • Project management and achievement of time, cost and quality targets
  • Team supervision and leadership
  • Client/Customer management and the establishment of good working relationships at all levels
  • Evaluation, development, and consolidation of recommendations for technological roadmaps
  • Ability to manage in a multicultural and mixed language (English, French, Arabic) environment
  • Development and maintenance of applicable standards and procedures
  • Manage a large annual budget for both capital and operational costs

 

Technical skills/Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree (or higher) in Electrical Engineering,computer science or similar
