Offshore HSE Coach

Location: Australia

AGR is seeking an experienced Offshore HSE Coach to join our client’s dynamic team for an upcoming offshore jack up drilling campaign.

Location: Offshore (Rotational) – Australia

Start Date: January/February 2025

Duration: 70-day campaign

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Operations:

  • Support Drilling Contractor HSE programs and leads by example.
  • Provide HSE input and coaching into all high-risk work activities during planning and execution.
  • Attend major Job Risk Assessments, and weekly safety meetings.
  • Monitor SIMOP’s activities.
  • Conduct periodic hazard hunts and rig inspections as required.
  • Assist incident investigations at the wellsite and assist with resulting actions.
  • Ensure all required drills are conducted and document response times.
  • Verify operations are in compliance with company HSE standards.
  • Supports Senior Supervisor in emergency situations as required.
  • Support the Drilling Contractor in the implementation of their own HS management system.
  • Attend pre-job, planning and client meetings as required on HSE related matters.
  • Provide necessary HSE inputs to Daily Drilling Report.

Risk:

  • Understand Material Risk Bowties, Critical Controls, and Performance Standards and verifies compliance.
  • Participate in Campaign, Well, and Operational risk assessments.
  • Ensures all HSE controls contained in risk assessments and programme are in place and effective.
  • Ensures that wellsite personnel understand the key HSE risks and controls prior each phase of operations.

Regulatory and Joint Venture:

  • Act as offshore Custodian of the Environmental Commitments Register (ECR), coordinating documentary evidence collection for close-out reporting.
  • Support project in ensuring HSE compliance offshore, ensure all Safety Case (SC) and Safety Case Revision (SCR), and Environmental Plan (EP) commitments are met and perform regular HSE audits and MAE inspections onboard.

Experience/Skills/Knowledge:

  • Minimum of 5 years HSE experience on MODUs,
  • Advanced MS Office Skills.
  • Strong understanding of the NOPSEMA and DCCEEW Regulatory Framework, including Safety Case Regime and Environmental Approvals process.
  • ISO 31000 trained
  • Advanced risk management and control capabilities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.

Formal Qualifications:

  • Minimum requirement of a Cert IV in OHS or similar.
  • Qualifications in QHSE or related discipline.
  • IWCF Level 1.
