Our well engineering team in Norway are excited to announce the mobilisation of the mobile drilling unit, Island Constructor, on behalf of Wintershall Dea for a light well intervention project on the Maria and Nova fields. Spanning 40 days, our well engineers are providing comprehensive upfront planning, as well as onshore and offshore management throughout the well intervention operation.
The Island Constructor will focus on repairing well integrity elements and enhancing crude oil and associated gas, and natural gas production from both fields.
Maria, located on Haltenbanken in the Norwegian Sea, lies in 300 meters of water and was first developed as a subsea tie-back with two templates. Since production began in 2017, the field has five producers and two water injectors in operation.
Nova, situated in the northern part of the North Sea at a sea depth of 370 meters, began production in 2022. The development consists of two 4-slot subsea templates—one for oil production and one for water injection—each with three wells tied back to the Gjøa platform.
Wintershall Dea is the Operator of Maria and Nova fields.
