n Q4 2019, OKEA drilled two wells – “Infill Ø” and “Skumnisse” – near the Draugen field on the Norwegian Continental Shelf using the Semi-Sebmersable “Deepsea Nordkapp”. These wells were OKEA’s very first wells as Operator on the Norwegian Continental shelf.
Moreld Ross Offshore is very proud of the fact that OKEA chose us to plan and execute these wells – along with partners Oddfjell and Halliburton.
To maximize efficiency, the Tophole on “Skumnisse” was drilled first, before the rig sailed to “Infill Ø” and anchored. “Infill Ø” was then drilled to TD and plugged, before the rig moved back to the “Skumnisse” location. Between the wells, the BOP was submerged during sailing, saving valuable time for the project. The scope for “Skumnisse” was then completed.
We set ourselves ambitions goal, and met all of them. The wells were drilled with a slim design, and “Infill Ø” was drilled from Seabed to TD in 5 days.
Every single KPI for both wells were met and exceeded – conductor running and cementing was achieved in half the AFE time and well below the P10 time and connection time was just of 4 mins. slips to slips, where the target was 8 mins.
The 12.25″ was drilled with at a blistering speed, exceeding 410m/hr.
