What does your day-to-day look like at AGR?
The day begins with a morning call with the marine team, which is the only consistent part of my routine. Beyond that, no two days are alike. Some days are packed with meetings, others are dedicated to paperwork, and occasionally, I spend time out in the field handling operations.
What made you pick a career in Energy?
It was quite by chance that I found myself in the energy sector. While I was studying to become a navigational officer with plans to work on vessels in foreign trade, a local offshore supply company offered me a position in their training program. I accepted, and with the skills I gained onboard the offshore supply vessels, I eventually had the opportunity to join Ross Offshore (Part of AGR) —again, somewhat coincidentally.
Tell us a bit about your career development at AGR/Ross Offshore (Part of AGR)?
I began as a Marine Advisor, then moved on to become the discipline lead for rig-move and mooring. Now, I am the Operations Manager, overseeing all operational activities in the marine department.
Can you tell us about something exciting you are working on right now?
Currently, we are preparing for a site-survey management project for one of Norway’s major energy companies. What’s particularly interesting is that we’re bringing in a new contractor we’ve never worked with before. This requires some extra effort to ensure everything is properly set up.
What does AGR do to enable your professional advancement and work-life balance?
Since joining AGR, I’ve been entrusted with challenging tasks and given the freedom to tackle them independently, which has significantly contributed to my professional growth. However, I’ve always had a strong team around me and received excellent guidance whenever needed.
What does the future look like in energy and oceans?
I foresee nothing but blue skies and clear oceans for decades to come. I believe the transition from oil and gas to green energy will occur naturally and smoothly.
