We are pleased to congratulate DNO ASA on the successful discovery at the Kjøttkake prospect in the North Sea, following the completion of exploration well in license PL1182 S. AGR supported the operation by delivering wellsite geology services, contributing to the achievement of key well objectives.
This is the second discovery AGR has been part of on behalf of DNO in just three months, reaffirming the value of trusted collaboration and geological expertise in offshore exploration success.
The Kjøttkake prospect, drilled by Odfjell Drilling’s Deepsea Yantai, encountered a 41-meter oil column and a 9-meter gas column. A horizontal sidetrack, drilled 1,350 meters westward within the Sotra Formation, confirmed the continuity of the oil column across the reservoir. Preliminary recoverable volume estimates range between 39 and 75 million barrels of oil equivalent.
Our wellsite geologists provided real-time subsurface insight throughout the operation, supporting DNO’s decision-making with continuous evaluation of formation data and lithology, monitoring wellbore stability, and ensuring the efficient acquisition of high-quality data for post-well analysis.
“Our team is proud to have contributed to another successful drilling campaign for DNO,” said Lene Thorstensen, Manager Operations & Wellsite Geology at AGR. “Our experienced operations geologists and wellsite personnel work closely with clients to ensure every metre drilled is guided by precision, safety, and optimal geological understanding.”
AGR remains committed to delivering high-value services across the full lifecycle of well operations, with expertise spanning well planning and drilling project management, well control and blowout contingency, well engineering and safety and risk management, geomechanics, resourcing, well time and costing, and subsurface support.
