Wellsite geology support for offshore drilling in the Yggdrasil area
AGR is delivering operations and wellsite geology services to support Aker BP’s offshore drilling campaign on the Deepsea Stavanger drilling rig, operated by Odfjell Drilling, in the Yggdrasil area of the Norwegian North Sea.
Delivering the longest horizontal wells ever recorded in Norway
AGR’s wellsite geology team formed part of the integrated drilling and subsurface crew onboard Deepsea Stavanger, contributing to the successful delivery of multiple exploration and production targets earlier in the campaign. Operations were carried out across the Omega, Alfa, Alfa South, Sigma NE, and Pi prospects, where a series of ultra‑long horizontal reservoir sections were drilled.
The drilling programme delivered record‑setting results on the Norwegian continental shelf, including the longest horizontal well drilled to date at 10,666 metres at the time of recording the milestone. The operation also achieved the three longest horizontal well branches ever drilled in Norway, each exceeding 10,000 metres.
The Omega campaign generated a significant volume of high‑quality reservoir data, helping to reduce subsurface uncertainty and supporting further field development in the Yggdrasil area.

Ongoing operations support in the Munin licence
AGR’s wellsite geologists continue to support offshore operations in the Munin licence within the Yggdrasil area, providing real‑time geological interpretation and contributing to strong drilling performance during ongoing drilling activities. AGR’s engagement with Aker BP is set to continue through the remainder of the campaign over the coming months.
