AGR and THF to advance AI-enabled well engineering

We have entered into a strategic partnership with THF Engineered Solutions (THF) to explore how engineering-led artificial intelligence (AI) can enhance well planning, assurance and well delivery.

The partnership combines AGR’s 35+ years of well engineering and project delivery experience with THF’s AI-enabled workflow platform, WellPhase, to help operators and engineers identify operational risks earlier, improve planning quality, reduce time spent reviewing historical well data and deliver wells more safely and efficiently.

The collaboration builds on a successful offset well review pilot involving AGR’s well specialists. Using WellPhase and its embedded Engineering Logic and Learning Intelligence System (ELLIS), large volumes of historical well information can be rapidly analysed and transformed into structured engineering insights, providing engineers with a traceable first-pass review of key events, risks and planning considerations.

While offset well reviews are the first workflow being explored, AGR and THF see opportunities to apply the approach across a wider range of well engineering, assurance and operational processes, including standards compliance, well operations planning and regulatory assurance.
