What does your day-to-day look like at AGR?
First of all I start the day with a cup of coffee, because how else can one unlock 'productive mode' without the magic potion? My days are a delightful whirlwind of organised chaos. I start by tackling the to-do list, which inevitably mutates into a to-don’t list by noon, thanks to surprise meetings and 'urgent' emails. Between juggling projects and connecting with my team, I do my best to carve out moments for focused work. Not two days are the same, but that is what makes the job interesting.
What made you pick a career in Energy?
My ambition to work in this field began when I was just six years old, having declared my intention to become a Captain. This aspiration led me to embark on my career with Eidesvik Offshore, where I gained experience on various types of vessels. In 2010, I transitioned to onshore roles within the mooring business, ultimately finding my place at AGR.
Tell us a bit about your career development at AGR
I joined AGR in 2020 as a Marine Advisor. Since then, I have advanced through roles, including Marine Specialist, Lead Subsea Vessel Operations, and I currently serve as Marine Specialist, Lead Rig Operations.
Can you tell us about something exciting you are working on right now?
Currently, I am working with one of the largest Operators in Norway as their Marine Advisor on various initiatives, including planning rig moves and a well development project. Additionally, I have been involved in a Wellhead cutting operation utilising our multi-purpose vessel Ross Eagle, which was both hectic and exciting.
What does AGR do to enable your professional advancement and work-life balance?
My company places a strong emphasis on fostering both professional growth and a healthy work-life balance. I have been trusted with challenging and exciting projects and having a good and professional team around me that has improved my professional advancement. Additionally, they prioritise work-life balance by offering flexible work arrangements, such as remote work options, but I prefer to be at the office with the team.
What does the future look like in energy and oceans?
The oil and gas industry remains crucial in the energy transition for years to come, but innovations in the green energy and efficient offshore operations will come gradually. Advances in technology and sustainability efforts aim to balance energy needs with environmental responsibility.
