Senior Reservoir Engineer

Location: Perth, Australia
Duration: 12 mths

AGR are looking for a Senior Reservoir Engineer to join its client’s team in Perth, Australia.

The successful candidate would provide reservoir engineering support to the Reservoir Team. This role will be required to collaborate with the reservoir team in performing reservoir integrated studies (Eclipse and Mbal) and proposing new reservoir development strategies. Monitoring and reporting activities for operated and non-operated projects will be an additional key area for this role.

Start date ~1st March 2026. 12 mth contract with extension potential.

Main Accountabilities and Responsibilities:                                                                                                                                                                                

  • Support reservoir simulation for operated and non-operated projects
  • Monitor and history match production parameters, during the production life of fields, to create understanding of behaviour of well and reservoir
  • Analyse production forecast data and make recommendations to optimise reservoir production.
  • Assist in collating the reservoir data for operated and non-operated fields.
  • Prepare and edit the relevant engineering reports.
  • Co-ordination of production database.
  • Participate in the maintenance of reserves database.

Qualifications & Experience:                                                                                                                   

  • Engineering degree, preferably in Petroleum Engineering
  • Min 5+ years within a reservoir engineering department, working specifically on 3D reservoir simulation (Eclipse 100, Eclipse 300)
  • Experience on well nodal analysis/modelling and gas lift optimisation (Prosper, Wellflo, GAP)
  • Compositional model simulation knowledge
  • PVT analysis and EOS modelling knowledge

Required Competencies:

  • Proven competent written and verbal communication skills especially in presenting
  • Strong team player and ability to work independently
  • Proven time management and prioritising skills
  • Microsoft office skills with word, outlook and basic excel
  • Willingness and ability to spend periodic trips offshore well site for drilling in Operated fields.
  • Occasional overseas trips to Head Office for Training or supervision of technical projects.
