Objective of the role:

  • Main focal point for operational planning and engineering during execution
  • Assist in planning upcoming wells
  • Write digital RAPs and follow up well operations on a day-to-day basis
  • Establish strong collaboration with subsurface, Drilling & Wells Engineering team, and alliance partners
  • Focus on safe and efficient operations. Challenge waste in operations and optimize where possible
Responsibilities and work tasks:
  • Perform drilling engineering services in the well project in order to accomplish the established objectives and plans
  • Support and mentor planning drilling engineers
  • Write digital Rig Action Plans, collaborate with Lead Drilling & Wells Engineer and vendors, and hold RAP meetings
  • Own the lessons learned process and facilitate knowledge sharing between teams and assets
  • Ensure that risk evaluation/analysis is properly used in relation to well design decisions
  • Obtain experience from similar projects within the company or from the industry
  • Stay updated on new equipment and working techniques, and ensure implementation when needed to achieve cost-efficient wells
  • Ensure good communication with all project stakeholders
  • Identify and handle dispensations and non-conformances when necessary
  • Drive performance and continuous improvement, including active NPT/ILT tracking
Qualification requirements

Education and experience:

  • BSc/MSc in engineering or science
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in well planning and operations
  • Experience from planning and execution of a variety of well types
  • ERD experience
  • Good understanding of geology and subsea considerations
  • Experience with relevant engineering tools and software (e.g. well planning, stress analysis, hydraulics, fluids selection, kick calculations, torque & drag, etc.)
  • Offshore experience from the Norwegian Continental Shelf

  • Strong interpersonal skills and team-oriented mindset
  • Good communicator, proactively seeking advice and sharing experience with others
  • Proficiency in English, preferably also Norwegian
  • Open and transparent communication style
