Let’s get to know Irene better.

1.Give us a glimpse into your day-to-day life at Techconsult so far. What keeps you on your toes?
I’m usually at the Bergen office around 7:00, so I start the day by making coffee for my colleagues before diving straight into new client requests. I work mainly with project administrative roles, and my typical clients include Equinor, Aibel, Aker BP and Odfjell.
It’s a fast-paced environment with high competition and tight deadlines, so I always stay sharp and ready to move quickly.
2. What drew you to recruitment and what keeps you passionate about it?
It happened a bit by chance. I was working as a sales professional in the IT industry, and the idea of working more closely with people really appealed to me — especially the follow-up and responsibility that comes with a recruitment role.
In 2012, I applied for my first job in the staffing industry at a Norwegian company TopTemp — and I got it.
3. Can you tell us about something exciting you are working on right now?
Right now, I’m working on a position where we’re looking for a Quality Professional with a focus on identifying and developing AI cases within quality and management development — or designing AI agents, such as Microsoft Copilot solutions, that support efficiency, information flow or productivity. It’s a really fun assignment.
4. In your role, what do you see as the biggest challenges facing the energy talent management and how can these be effectively addressed to cover gaps?
One of the challenges is language. Many clients require Norwegian-speaking candidates for jobs in Norway, and there are a lot of highly skilled professionals who don’t speak Norwegian.
5. Beyond the work, what’s your favourite part about being part of the Techconsult team? Any fun team moments you’d like to share?
It’s an incredibly talented group with a lot of knowledge — and plenty of cakes and celebrations for even the smallest occasions:). One of my favourite memories was when a colleague tried to teach me to play the ukulele for the Christmas party.
