AGR’s marine team successfully delivered a wellhead severance project offshore Norway for Vår Energi. The vessel-based offshore operations were completed safely and efficiently.

A new external cutting system from IKM Subsea AS was deployed from the Ross Eagle multi-purpose vessel, enabling a streamlined operation while minimising logistics and vessel time.

This assignment forms part of AGR’s vessel-based decommissioning approach, which combines marine operations expertise and modern technology to deliver flexible, cost-efficient P&A and wellhead removal solutions.

Project Delivery

Acting on behalf of the client, AGR executed the full A–Z scope of work, including:

  • Deployment of the Ross Eagle vessel and work-class WROV
  • Integration and operation of IKM Subsea AS’s external cutting technology
  • Real-time coordination of marine and subsea activities
  • Safe recovery and return of the seabed to origin

Outcome

The project showcased strong collaboration between AGR, IKM Subsea AS, and Vår Energi, demonstrating how innovation, precise engineering, and marine capability can efficiently support late-life well operations.
