Vessel-based P&A and wellhead severance

AGR delivers vessel‑based decommissioning, Plug & Abandonment (P&A), and wellhead severance services through a fully integrated approach that brings together offshore marine engineering, specialist logistics, and expert project management.

By unifying these disciplines into a single vessel‑deployed P&A and decommissioning solution, we significantly reduce operational complexity, minimise risk, and enhance efficiency across offshore end‑of‑life well campaigns.

Using our engineering expertise and a fleet of Multi‑Purpose Vessels (MPVs), we support the full subsea decommissioning workflow. This includes debris clearance, ROV and diving operations, environmental plug installation across multiple annuli, cutting of casing and conductor strings, and the final retrieval of subsea wellheads below the mudline.

Our vessel‑based model enables operators to execute multi‑well P&A and wellhead removal campaigns with greater flexibility and lower overall cost compared to rig‑based methods.

AGR’s modular wellhead cutting spreads are engineered for safe, predictable execution while minimising mobilisation time, vessel requirements, emissions, and project cost. The modular design enables seamless transition between wellhead severance, IMR activities, and broader subsea decommissioning scopes, giving energy companies a truly integrated and efficient vessel‑based solution for end‑of‑field decommissioning.

Subsea well abandonment with high-performing WROV

Our vessels are equipped with WROVs carefully selected for their ability to operate a wide range of tooling through simple and efficient interfaces. We deploy specialised tools for subsea annular isolation systems that enable safe casing perforation and annulus cementing on subsea Category 2 abandoned wells prior to final wellhead removal.

Our solutions enhance the integrity of subsea well abandonment, even in demanding environments characterised by harsh weather, currents, and subsea infrastructure such as cables.

Our clients rely on us for rapid mobilisation and safe, anchor‑free station keeping enabled by the vessel’s dynamic positioning system.

By reducing HSE exposure and supporting responsible material handling, we help our clients achieve safer, cleaner, and more predictable vessel‑deployed well abandonment operations—with minimal environmental impact.

Vessel‑Based Conductor and Wellhead Severance

AGR delivers efficient vessel‑based conductor and wellhead severance by utilising advanced offshore cutting technologies, including mechanical cutters, abrasive water jet systems, and diamond wire saws — to achieve precise multi‑string casing severance across a wide range of subsea and platform well architectures.

Our cutting portfolio includes both mechanical and abrasive cutting systems. The tools are engineered for internal and external access, enabling flexible deployment across a wide range of operational scenarios.

Designed for versatility, our setup is compatible with all pipe dimensions, tubulars, conductors, and structural elements, ensuring seamless integration with diverse offshore requirements.

Our cutting solutions are built for reliability, the tools perform consistently even in the most challenging subsea and offshore environments, maintaining operational integrity under high loads, low visibility, and dynamic conditions.

The subsea cutting package incorporates ultra‑robust cut‑verification mechanisms, ensuring full confirmation of severance and perfect balance between a minimal footprint and maximum precision.
