Purpose of position/ general responsibility
On behalf of the D&W discipline, manage and facilitate completion, rig and Subsea interfaces during planning and execution phases. Provide Subsea planning, operational and technical support to ensure that D&W activities are planned within the objective provided by
the Project, and that the plans will be executed safely and efficiently and in accordance with requirements and statutory regulations throughout the entire well life-cycle.


• Apply the Management System throughout the duration of the drilling & well operations and
ensure that relevant statutory regulations and guidelines are adhered to.
• Be responsible for all D&W technical aspects covered in the BMS (Business Management
System), throughout the planning phases of the project, liaising with other internal technical
disciplines / external stakeholders as required
• Research offset well data and supplier’s information for the selection of the most suitable
tools, methods and procedures
• Assist the D&W Lead as required.
• Advice on operational and rig requirements and limitations in the subsea equipment selection
process related to well operations.
• Advise on rig requirements for subsea completion operations in preparation for rig tender and
• Plan and schedule subsea activities in close co-operation with the Subsea team and the
subsea contractor
• Participate as required during equipment FAT/EFAT/SIT and mobilization of subsea equipment
related to drilling and well operations
• Preparation of operations programs and detailed operating procedures and other steering
documentation, including SIMOPS and Hand Over of well to Operation department
• Have responsibility for the implementation of the subsea installation and intervention
procedures into the drilling and completion program and procedures
• Assist with development and maintenance of time and cost estimates and tracking of cost.
• Maintain an updated risk register and involve all relevant parties to ensure the risks are
reviewed and closed out in a timely matter.
• Systematic monitoring and reporting of the operations and technical performance resulting in
effective preparation of drilling sections and End of Well reporting
• Assure feedback regarding any operational lessons learned that could influence the design of
and activities in future wells


Formal education
• Master or bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline (Mechanical, Civil, Process, Subsea or similar). Relevant experience can replace lack of formal education


Professional experience
• Min. 10 years subsea completion engineering, including experience from field development from planning throughout execution of operations.
• Specialist knowledge of completion equipment, subsea completion systems, blow out preventer systems, rig equipment and handling and installation methods.
