Description
AGR’s Australian office is looking for a Drilling Engineer who is willing to relocate to its office in Perth, Western Australia. Due to an increase in activity, AGR is looking for a Drilling Engineer to provide technical expertise in the preparation for, execution of and reporting on of well operations in line with AGR’s technical and HSE&Q standards. The Drilling Engineer may be required to provide offshore drilling engineering support as part of their development.
AGR is willing to relocate the selected candidate and provide the necessary Visa’s.
Job Specific Requirements (Duties/accountabilities)
Onshore
Well planning as per AGR’s Well Delivery Process (WDP) which includes, but is not limited to, the following;
Preliminary well design components for normally pressured wells including;
- Casing design – kick tolerance,
- Directional well planning,
- Fluids – weights and types,
- Cementing – weights and volumes,
- Bit, BHA design and Hydraulics – torque and drag review.
Preparation of Design Rationale documents.
Undertaking of Offset Review, preparation and issue of supporting documentation.
Preparation of technical scopes of work for ITTs and analysis of returned bids for the selection of third party services.
Liaison with key Third party contractors for input to well designs and programmes.
Preparation of Drilling Program for submission to relevant regulatory authorities
Preparation of and participation in risk assessment, hazard analysis and DWOP processes.
Participation in emergency response exercises.
Preparation and processing of P1 probabilistic models for well engineering projects.
- Initial project scoping (time)
- Detailed P1 modelling (time and scoping AFE)
- AFE generation (final AFE)
Offshore
Occasional offshore assignment on AGR operated rigs to assist the AGR Drilling Supervisor.
- Demonstrate leadership in safety and environmental performance whilst on-site, commensurate with the position of the Operators representative.
- Monitor all offshore drilling operations and assist to ensure they are carried out according to the prepared program.
- Facilitate pre job meetings and preparation of Offshore Risk Assessments where required.
- Attend all safety meetings and participate in the rig contractors safety observation programme.
- Monitor equipment and people requirements offshore.
- Prepare / be involved in the preparation of all offshore engineering reports (Tallies, Cement / Casing reports, Daily Work Instructions, Daily Drilling Reporting, Lessons Learned). Review the prepared instructions for drillers and ensure they are correct and have captured all the required engineering information.
- Provide detailed engineering interpretation for the planned well construction programme and ensure all understand the reasons for the design. Facilitate any changes required.
- Perform all calculations for the offshore operation; Cement and hydraulic calculations, casing tallies, well control sheets, wellhead stack-ups, bit reports and pictures.
Qualification/Experience Requirements
- Relevant degree in engineering from a recognised university.
- Significant experience within an E&P or Well Engineering/Management organisation.
- A mixture of engineering and operational experience is desirable
- Experience with subsea well design is desirable.
